About Jim
Jim Sanborn is dedicated to giving you the best service possible for any marine survey from yachts and sail boats to commercial and personal fishing vessels.
In addition to years of varied maritime experience, he has received formal training in the art of mariner surveying from the Chapman School of Seamanship. He worked for many years as a charter captain, and is a former harbormaster.
He also worked as a Commercial fishing boat Captain, working his way up from the deck sorting fish to the captains chair. He repaired draggers and lobster boats. One of his favorite pastimes was to work on mending nets and fishing gear, he found the mechanics and engineering that goes into a fishing trawl rewarding.
Jim earned a Vietnam Cross of Gallantry and received a Purple Heart while a member of the United States Marine Corps.
He is located in Cape Cod, about an hour from Boston and Providence.
